The
Company was formed in 2005 as a private Australian company.
With its initial purpose being to acquire exploration rights
to a number of quality tenements, the Company considered that
the Solomon Islands, located north east of Australia, might
have excellent potential since it was recognised by the South
Pacific Applied Science Commission (SOPAC) as being “perhaps
the most under-explored Country in the Pacific Rim of Fire.”
The Company then identified a number of highly prospective
tenements in the Solomon Islands which were available at the
time due to repercussions of civil unrest in 2000, and period
of limited exploration in the country since the late 1980s.
During the 2005/2006 period, the Company successfully negotiated
exploration licences (or prospecting licences) to four
highly prospective gold and copper projects in the
Western Province of the Solomon Islands.
In 2007 the Company established its parent company, XDM Resources
Inc., in Canada and relocated its head office to Bay Street,
Toronto.
